Local host on behalf of the Gypsy Lore Society

The meeting is being organized on behalf of the Gypsy Lore Society by a team of researchers of NEC (Núcleo de Estudos Ciganos/Nucleum of Gypsy Studies) with the support of CRIA - Center for Research in Anthropology - Portugal, a network research centre in anthropology with institutional poles in four Portuguese universities. NEC was founded by CEMME in 2000 and is now a specialized research group of CRIA.

Call for Papers: Closed

Papers on any aspect of Gypsy Studies are welcome, but substantive scholarly papers will be given priority.Papers should be 20 minutes long with an additional 10 minutes allotted for discussion. Abstracts should be submitted no later than February 25. Notification of acceptance will be announced by March 15. Conference Venue

The conference will be held at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas - Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH-UNL). FCSH-UNL is located at Avenida de Berna 26-C in Lisbon, easily accessible by bus (726/756) or by Metro (Campo Pequeno).

Registration Fees:

Registrations received before 30 June  2010:
Gypsy Lore Society members and postgraduate students (*)	€ 35.00
Non-members	€ 40.00
Registrations received after 1st July 2010 (deadline 30 August 2010):
Unique fee (for both members and non-members)	€ 45.00
Registrations on the conference day:
Payment in cash	€ 45.00
(*) Postgraduate students need to be registered either part time or full time for an MA or PhD degree at a university, and must prove their status with a letter from the university or dissertation supervisor.

How to register?

Banquet

The traditional banquet will be held Friday, September 10^th. The banquet fee is € 40. If you want to attend the banquet you must book your place and pay the banquet fee along with the registration fee until 15th August 2010.

Cancellation

If you cancel your participation in the meeting and banquet until 31July 2010 – through e-mail or fax - we will refund you the paid fees. There are no refunds for cancellations after 31 July 2010. A processing fee may be applied to refunds.

Transportation

Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS) is inside Lisbon, 2 km far from the Hotels and the Faculty. You can pick up Special Buses to the Hotels, normal Buses and Taxis outside the Airport. For further information please check the Airport website at http://www.ana.pt/portal/page/portal/ANA/AEROPORTO_LISBOA/

Travel and accommodation

Participants are expected to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
