Biographical Note

Inês Mestre studied Anthropology (Nova University of Lisbon) and Documentary Film (Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona). In 2013, she finished a master final project in Anthropology: Visual Cultures (Nova University of Lisbon). Currently, she is doing her PhD in Anthropology (FCSH/NOVA and ISCTE-IUL), with a scholarship by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, and she conducts research about confectionery in Portugal, working in the fields of food, heritage, memory and visual anthropology. She is a member of the Visual Anthropology and Arts Laboratory at CRIA, and she is devoted to develop and promote the intersections between anthropology and artistic practices.
