The Master's in Visual Cultures explores the use of visual material in the research, presentation, and circulation of anthropological knowledge. It focuses on the practical and methodological aspects of ethnographic film, documentary work, and photography. Students will have the opportunity to develop these skills in a practical workshop. The programme also covers the study of visual systems and visible culture, and the production of anthropological and social knowledge through the analysis of images created by others. Building on the constructed nature of visual representations, this Master's provides an update on the relationship between anthropology and the image, opening a new agenda of interests, debates, and research concerning visual cultures and their contemporary relevance.
