The Master's in Anthropology - Contemporary Themes aims to produce anthropological knowledge on multiple phenomena that shape contemporary life across various local, national, and transnational contexts. It provides students with the theoretical knowledge and methodological and technical skills required to develop professional practice and original anthropological research on themes relevant to understanding the world today. In addition to theoretical and methodological seminars, the Master's covers various areas, according to the available options, exploring the intersections of Anthropology with the environment, material culture, development, social movements, heritage, artistic practices, ritual and performance, and tourism. In the 2nd year, after completing the coursework, students will produce a dissertation, project work, or internship with a report.
