Riccardo Uras graduated in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna with a thesis on emigration from Sulcis-Iglesiente from the 1960s to the present day. He is currently a PhD student in Research and Social Innovation at the University of Cagliari with a research project entitled ‘Territories in transition. Ecological crisis, cultural heritage and cultures of sustainability in Sardinia and Portugal'. His PhD project involves ethnographic research on changes in tuna trap fishing in Sulcis-Iglesiente and Algarve in relation to changes in the global bluefin tuna production and distribution chain.
