In this seminar, Ana Abecasis will present insights from her research on virus transmission dynamics, focusing on genomic, social, and behavioural determinants that shape the spread of infectious diseases. Drawing on her work in molecular epidemiology and global health, she examines how viral evolution, patterns of human interaction, and social inequalities influence transmission processes and treatment outcomes. Her research highlights the importance of integrating genomic data with social and behavioural perspectives to better understand disease spread and to inform effective public health responses. This presentation contributes to ongoing discussions in global health, epidemiology, and the development of integrated approaches to disease prevention and health equity in diverse populations.
